Crusade era III Legion Praetor

I've completed painting The Praetor of the Third Legion. At last! It was a long adventure that allowed me to try new recipes and colors, to work with textures again. At the end, I am satisfied with the result, and soon I will be working closely with both the new praetor (another legion) and the new miniature from the Third.

a Kriegsman WIP

 

A Kriegsman veteran sergeant WIP. Here you may see the difference between Green Grey from Scalecolor Artist (on coat) and Dark sea Blue from Vallejo Model Color (helm and laspistol). Just as described in its naming the Green Grey is more blue and Dark Sea Blue - is more green ;-)

Dark Angels Interemptor test mini

 I've completed the DA interemptor test mini! This is my vision of that unit, I wanted to do it a more grim and brutal variant than in original FW kit. So I used Iron Hands tactical squad bits as base for my interemptor model. 

Paintedd schemes was already developed on the past test DA minis: blacks based on Green Grey (Scalecolr Artist) and reds based on Shadow Flesh 2 and Burgundy Red (both Pacific88 Art-Color). I did just one exception - I added some rust to the mini. 

The plasma glowing pinted by mix of Turquise Blue (SCA) and white.

DA backpack test

 I have two variants of DA backpack: flat black and black metal NMM. What do you think which variant is looks better?

DA breacher shield

 

I just painted the breched shield for my DA bracher test mini.I left the shield is black because I need to wait the book to choose color scheme and heraldics for my DA force.

Blood Angels Praetor

The Blood Angels praetor with spear and shield. I got great new experience while working on this mini so I hope to do some more BA chars next year and maybe one more char with such theme but for 40K

Scalecolor Artist NMM recipe

While testing new colors range firstly I always search for basic NMM recipes. So there is a basic steel NMM recipe for the Scalecolor Artist range:

Base mix - Art Black + Dark Brown Ochre.

Next add Primary Blue to the base mix 'till it be a very little bit more blue than grey.

Highlight that with adding Art White 'till pure white.

Abaddon the Despoiler

 Abaddon the Despoiler, Archenemy of the Imperium and Warmaster of Chaos.
And also my longest paintwork in 2019. I am not 100% satisfied by this work but anyway I am very like how in looks at the end.
I tried to learn some new tricks but maybe I am just too old dog for that.
In 2018 I painted Heresy era Abaddon, this year - a 40K one. And it seems like 2020 will be also year of Heresy era Abaddon. The last Abby as I hope.

Another Custodes WIP

 NMMonday in the cold summer! While I waiting for my scalecolor shiny smooth paints (sooo looong) from kickstarter I still paint the custodes with Pacific88

Gold NMM recipe based on Pacific88 paints

This golden NMM resipe whan I tested on three Custodes training pieces. Now I finished this work and ready to show the result. All paints are #Pacific88 Art Color

1. Base Mix. The base mix consider three paints: main - ART358 Reddish Brown, and a little addition of ART1 Black and ART120 Red

2. Highlighting the Light Side. The light side will be more yellow and cold
Base mix with a highlighting with ART122 Reddish Orange, when it will looks a bit more orange than brown add ART92 Dark Tangerine, when ART95Orange and on the latest stages ART60 Yellow and Art White15
You may use ART95 Orange when highlighting to do a process faster

3. Highlighting the Reflex. The Reflexes will be more orange and warm.
Base mix with a highlighting with ART122 Reddish Orange, and will looks a more orange than the light side At the last stages add a little of ART92 Dark Tangerine, and a bit of Art White15

Third training custodes

 Third (and the last) training custodes now finished. And also I finished developing of the golden NMM recipe based on Pacific88 paints. So I will reveal it soon and then will try something different for the new NMM recipes.
Also I will start a small gang of this golden boyz)
