Malifaux Monday #45: how to paint Patty Ramone

Hello Everyone! This week instead of new Malifaux minis I did a quick guide about painting schemes and colors I used when I painted Patti Ramone from Wild Ones crewbox

P.S. Many thanks to Paul Buntman, who help me with translation!

First I’s like to say a couple of words about the assembly. In Malifaux, there are many miniatures, the assembly of which must be carefully thought through, so that later they would be easier to paint. For convenience, I split the miniature into four parts before painting:
1 Wheel and engine
2.3. Left and right sidewall with seat frame
4 Seat with Patty Ramone
This was necessary to have access to all surfaces of the miniature when painting.

For the basic mixture I used Dark Sea Blue (VMC) and black. First, a bit of DSB was added to the base mix, after which I began to highlight the mixture with the addition of Iraqi Sand (VMC) to pure IS. In the process of highlighting, I also painted quite a large number of scratches. After completing the highlighting, I tinted the surface several times with a mixture of DSB and black to slightly mute the color. It also made the scratches less prominent. After that I restored the bright highlight and added a little of Xereus Purple (GW)

Xereus Purple (GW)

Steel elements

I did the steel NMM with my "standard" scheme. Base - German cam. Black Brown (VMC) + a little bit of Andrea Blue (VMC). I made the highlights with a mixture of AB and white (1:3 approximately), and then - pure white. In addition, I added a little of Xereus Purple (GW) in the shade areas.

Xereus Purple (GW)

Elements of copper / red bronze.

The basic mixture was a mixture of black and Amarantha Red (VMC), then I gradually added AR until the mixture began to noticeably go into orange. At this point, I began to highlight the mixture by adding Skrag Brown (GW) to a pure SB. After that i did some highlights with a mixture of SB and Iraqi Sand, and only at the end I added white to the mix.

Skin: As a base layer, I used Beige Brown (VMC). Then, in several layers, highlighted, adding to the base color Yellowish Rust (VPA), almost to the pure YR
Then I began to add Cadmium Skin (VGC) in the resulting mixture. Again, I highlighted with a large number of translucent layers to a pure CS. You need to
be very attentive to the smoothness of the transitions.
Hair: I made the base layer from a mixture of XV-88 (GW) and US Olive Drab (VMC). I made the highlights with the pure XV-88 first, and then I used its mixture with Iraqi Sand.
Browns: First I covered everything with a mixture of Cam. Black Brown and Flat Brown (VMC). After that I did the highlights in a few layers of pure FB, a mixture of FB and Beige Brown, and a clean BB
Reds: For reds, I used consistently Carmine Red (VMC), Red "Bermellon" (VMC), plus a little Amarantha Red. In the end I added some Cadmium Skin to the last mixture.

Iraqi Sand.
Black Brown и Flat Brown (VMC).
