Malifaux Monday #74: Kirai

Let's dilute Ravenswood's dominance in Malifaux Mondays!
Here is Kirai.What can I say more about her?...
It's very dynamic miniature. First of all, flying hairs and fluttering clothes emphasize it. Rhythmic folds also working on this feeling.
I decided to choose my favorite purple instead usual yellow color for Kirai. At this time I took not pure Purple (Vallejo) for pants and shirt but muffled it with black or black/white mix. Due to this, in my opinion, the skin became more lively. Also, lime green looks very good, and, it seems to me, this sufficient contrast combination of diluted violet and light green still does not pull attention from the face or scissors. (I wonder what she does with these scissors on the game?)

Iron Warriors legion Praetor

This month I painted the praetor legion of the Iron Warriors. I tried to dilute the monotonous steel nmm using red, bronze and black. The basics was my base version of the HMM paint scheme (for more details, click here). Over the other recipes, I had to experiment with new paint. I will write separate post for the paint I used in this miniature.

В этот месяце я покрасил претора легиона Железных Воинов, издававшеголя для продажи на ивентах ForgeWorld в 2017 году. Осовой послужил мой базовый вариант НММ (подробнее здесь). Над остальными рецептамми мне пришлось поэкспериментировать с новыми красками. Про покрасочную схему будет отдельный пост.
Я попытался разбавить монотонный стальной нмм использовав при вида красного, бронзу и черный.
Я очень надеюсь, что мне удастся за этот год покрасить ешё две работы основанные да данной модели.

Not Red Unicorn of Death

 This zwerg has a long and sad history. For the last five years he has been lying on the desktop and in boxes in various stages: semi-assembled, converted, once again converted, prepared for painting, partially painted, etc.
He is managed to be a warrior with a shield, a two-handed axe, a champion and a test model for a new painting scheme (twice). And even was the "Red Unicorn of Death" (actually Rot Einhorn des Todes - hallo mr. Ben Komets ;-) ) but not for long.
I was tired of everything and painted him late December. Now this guy is looking for a new home.

У этого цверга долгая и грустная история. Последние лет пять он валялся на рабочем столе и по коробкам в различных состояниях: полусобранный, переконверченный, ещё раз переконверченный, подготовленный к покрасу, частично покрашенный и т.д.
Он успел побыть воином со щитом, в двуручным топором, чепмпионом и тестовой моделью под новую схему покраски (дважды). И даже "Красным единорогом смерти" тоже был, хотя недолго.
В итого все закончилось как закончилось: перед новым годом мне все надоело, я его за пару дней таки докрасил. Теперь этот парень ищет себе новый дом.

Pinup Architect

A new pinup girl from Kingdom Death. 
This time I wanted to do something unusual. Additionally, I did not really like this miniature (incomprehensibly weapon, typical for KD thong, too deep-set "drowned" eyes. 
A few days before I took this miniature, we had a short conversation in Facebook with the German artist Klaus Dorn, where it came about purple fur as an option of some kind of non-standard approach. And with the purple fur I jokingly invented pink latex. This is how the pair "fur-latex" was born, which required implementation in some miniature. And this Architect was good variant to try some new approach. I cut off the stupid thong and tried to make a tight-fitting body latex suit. Now of course I think that latex does not have enough gloss and it might be worth it to make it more contrast. However, I'm glad that the seemingly insane idea about purple fur has led to a very interesting and pleasing to me personally (and the customer) result. But the problem of too deep-set eyes had to be masked by smudged cosmetics. 
I also attach a photo of the palette and colors that I used for the latex suit. Nothing complicated, just a lot of long and tedious work with layering and glazes for smooth transitions. Pleats (folds) and, that is not unimportant, nipples - are drawn, I mean I had to draw all these textures just simulating the volume with light and shadow.

Malifaux Monday #73: Miss Deed

Hello! In today's Malifaux Monday - Miss Did aka alternative Taylor. I got myself two pieces on GenKon and decided to paint the first one as on the art. In vain they have thought up trousers to be striped, with it was most of all trouble. In the rest, I liked the miniature very much, but there are some pitfalls about which it is better to know before the painting. So:

- This hat spoils everything. No, well, because of the shape of the hat, the face becomes almost invisible, and it's even very interesting. I think my second version of this mini will be without the hat.

- Again about the face. Casting artifacts in the number of four pieces on the face - it's just inhuman. They are present on both my miniatures, they must be removed before painting.

- The hammer handle is very thin, so it's better to glue the hand before painting . Painting will not be very convenient, but it will not break at the most inopportune moment.

 

Всем привет! В сегодняшнем понедельничном Малифо - Мисс Дид. Она же альтернативная Тейлор. Завел себе две штуки на ГенКоне и решил покрасить первую как на арте. Зря-зря-зря они придумали штанам быть полосатыми, с этим было больше всего мороки. В остальном миниатюра очень понравилась, но есть некоторые подводные камни, о которых лучше знають заренее. Итак:
- шляпа всё портит. Нет, ну сетьезно, из-за формы шляпы становится почти не видно лицо, а оно очень даже интересное. Думаю следующую версию сделать без шляпы.
- опять про лицо. Литейные артефакты в количестве четырез штук на лице - это просто бесчеловечно. Присутствуют на обеих моих миниатюрах, убирать их обязательно.
- ручка молотка очень тонкая, так что лучше сразу приклеить руку с молотом к тушке. Красить будет не очень удобно, зато не сломается в самый неподходящий момент.

One more Iron Warrior

 The first Iron Warrior, painted in 2018. It turned out to be noticeably darker than the previous one, mainly due to differences in the MKII and MKIV armor. In armor MarkIV shoulder pads and torso look much more "modest" than in MKII.
Moreover, on this legionary, I added a little more satin shine in the shadows, thereby increasing the contrast and do a deeper colors. For this I used the glazing by mix of Smokey Ink (VGC) and matte black. Matte black in the mix was needed in order to adjust the shine level.

Первый Железный Воин, покрашенный в 2018. Он получился заметно темнее, чем предыдущий, в основном  из-за различий в доспелах II и IV модели. В доспехе МК4 наплечники и торс выглядят куда "скромнее" версии МК2.
Крогме того, на этот легионере я добавил чуть больше сатинового блеска в тенях, увеличив тем самым контраст и сделав цвет глубже. Для этого я использовал глазировки смесьи Smokey Ink (VGC) и матового черного.  Матовый черный в смеси был нужен для того, чтоб регулировать уровень блеска.
