Chaos Dwarf Infernal Guard Regiment

I've completed this regiment at last! Just 7.5 years of painting and it is done) The last ones is far different from the firet one but it diesn't matter. Just one mini now to go)

Chaos Dwarf Magma Cannon

Finally, it's  fully painted! This miniature was started 5 years ago, in May 2012. And it was done with very looooooooong breaks all this time. Therefore, in places this work looks like the monster of Dr. Frankenstein - assembled from different parts, painted with different levels of painting skills. After this amount of time, it's interesting to see the changes in the basic paint recipes that I used. Almost everywhere I switched from paint GW to Vallejo, except gray skn, where Vallejo was originally.
However, nothing stands still and now I would like to radically change the schemes of the bronze and gold NMM to reach a new level of skills and try something different.

It remains to do only one small thing - to rearrange the cannon to the gaming base and add it to my Chaos Dwarfs army

Наконец-то заончена! Эта миниатюры была начата ещё 5 лет назад, в мае 2012 года. И делалась с ооооооочень большими перерывами всё это время. Поэтому местами эта работа выглядит как чудовище Доктора Франкенштейна - собранная из разных частей, покрашенных с разным уровнем навыков покраски. По прошествии такого количества времени довольно интересно постмотреть на изменение основных покрасочных рецептов, которыми я пользовался. Практически везде я перешел с красок ГВ на Вальехо, кроме серой кожи, где Вальехо был изначально.

Однако ничто не стоит на месте и теперь я хотел бы радикально изменить рецепты брозового и золотого НММ, чтобы выйти на новый уровень навыков и потробовать что-то иное. 

Осталось сделать только одно маленькое дело - переставить пушку на игровую подставку и добавить её в мою армию гномов хаоса.

Nepharya the Necro Priestess

Hi Folks! There is one more blast from the past. Nepharya was painted as box-art collaboration between me and Maria (Ringil) for Raging Heroes a year ago. She painted skin and cloth and I did everything else. Personally I not a big fan of true metallics but on this I was forced to do them. I tried to use Scalecolor true metallic sets and you know what? They're damn amazing! So I planned to do some minis in TMM in future (TMM version of chaos renegade perhaps)

Last autumn, 2014, Massive Voodoo announced the start of their competition «Bananalisious 2". The First was very interesting, with lots of high-class work. For me MV blog has always been very important, the guys have done a lot for the development and promotion of our modeling segment, and their views and approaches have always been close to me.
So, I tried to do all my best.

Для меня блог МВ всегда был особо важен, ребята сделали очень много для развития и популяризации нашего сегмента моделизма, да и их взгляды и подходы всегда были близки. Так что, надо было выложиться.

Dark Cave Beauty

This tiny miniature is limited edition Female Sorceress from Darksword Miniatures.

Tom Meier is very delicate sculptor. Most of his green ladies are small but so detailed. And it was big pleasure for me to work with another one miniature from him.

At the beginning i had some diffrent ideas - about some conversions and about yellow dress.

But owner banned any conversion (because it is limited edition version). It was sad a little bit - i wanted to do long train for dress. But idea with black goo with some worms is not bad too. And so nurglish.

On wip picture you can see that i painted variant with yellow dress, but it was not looked good with skin tones. So i repainted it in purple. As i see now this color a little bit unsaturated.

One of main idea was about two sides of the coin. And some beauties also have another - darker or weird - side.

I tried to paint bust 5 times and always was not satisfied with color scheme. And only this variant was finished )))

Try to paint latex, but it needs more highlights I think.

 

Iron Empire Reapers troops 1/2 - box-art for Raging Heroes

Good news again! I'm proud to show you a box art unit for Raging Heroes' TGG.

This time it is Iron Empire's light troopers. And in this part I want to say how I painted their armor.

For the base of painting scheme I used my current scheme for chaos dwarf bronze armor but with one difference:

I used Ratskin Flesh instead of Bubonic brown to give the more copper look.

So I painted this armor from darkest tones to highlights 

Base mix Black + Amarantha Red (VMC) used in darkest parts and shadows. I add more Amarantha red for highlinting.

In mid tones I add the drop of Scrofulous Brown (VGC) to base mix.

After that I add the Ratskin Flesh (GW) to previous mix for hightligths and White in last stages.
